Who we are

Chris Flacke is a seasoned communicator, going back to his first job as a Universal Studios tour guide. His undergraduate degree in Renaissance-period urban studies and an M.Arch. from Sci-Arc may have taught him as much as three stints as traveling researcher and later Editor of LET'S GO EUROPE. He's worn many hats as journalist, critic, translator, and author, drawing on his design background as well as language and life skills in varied cultures, particularly Italy, Germany, the UK, and China. His work at practices as diverse as O.M. Ungers, Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer, Frank Gehry, Moore Ruble Yudell, and Rios Associates, followed by 20 years as sole proprietor of Flacke Architects, gives him a deep knowledge of architecture as both calling and trade.

Kimbro Frutiger is a writer and architect with experience in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. His communication specialties include cultural and institutional work, historic preservation, and master planning, and he's particuarly skilled at connecting with academic and arts audiences. Kimbro has written extensively on social aspects of architecture and urbanism in New York City during the 1950s and 60s, both for DoCoMoMo publications and a book in preparation.
